So…we just got a semi-pro basketball team.
Welcome to the Delaware 87ers, our new NBA D-League team! They’re owned by the Philadelphia 76ers and they will be playing at the Bob.
That makes two major league affiliates for our tiny state, with the…
As a native born in Dover, I’m well aware of the historical significance of the number, but don’t think it provides the same ring…Still, I wish them nothing but the best!
Sorry about that, I didn’t mean to imply that you didn’t know. I’ve just seen so many people genuinely confused about the name, that I wanted to clear it up in case others weren’t aware.

That’s the best name they could come up with, though?!
It follows the trend started by the parent team. ‘87 is also a historical year, and it stands for the year we ratified the Constitution.

Sorry about that “fight” you all had to see.
I don’t regret one bit of it though.
Now…back to our scheduled programming!
Like any reasonable person, I love that Firefly brings a bunch of revenue to the state along with the out-of-state attendees.
However, I find it hilarious that nobody outside of Delaware really cares about Delaware until it’s time for Firefly.
Hello! We have some of the cleanest beaches in the…
stop. STAPH.
Delaware is lame as fuck.
Crusty beaches beaches with muddy water.
Joe Biden is….funny….
Yeah, no taxes….and no decent stores unless you go all the way downstate to the outlets.
One actor from a t.v show no one cares about.
A judge.
What a fun vacation.
You must be an absolute joy to hang out with.
Ha, i’m the life of the party.
But seriously, youre either from way up north (Wilmington or just New Castle county in general) or the Rehoboth/ Dewey beach area. The rest of Delaware is McCrap. Lmao, youre surely not from Slower Lower….
And what if I am? You’re not the defining authority on what parts of Delaware people can like and dislike.
Also, in case anybody didn’t quite grasp the tone of the post that started all of this…I wasn’t being 100% serious. After all, Judge Reinhold peaked in the ’90s and isn’t exactly someone to brag about. Yes, I like Delaware. Do I expect other people to agree with me? No. But I wish people would stop looking at all the negative things about Delaware and appreciate the positive. Fun fact: Every state has a boring section, and it might come as a shock to some folks…but there are people who live in these so-called boring sections that like it there.

Guess how many followers this blog has right now?
302
I felt the need to mention it, and I figured you all would understand.
That awkward moment when the only thing in your Delaware tracked tag is a bunch of posts about that former Miss Teen Delaware’s sex tape…
Ugh.

Need I go on?
But seriously. If you’re only coming here for Firefly, consider staying a little while longer or coming back to see some of our other great things. (A lot of which I did not mention because I’m tired and need to finish my college coursework…)
Also, if you’re an out-of-stater and have questions you need answered (where to find a good restaurant, where to buy something, etc. etc.), I can definitely answer them for you.
Sincerely,
YKYFDW
